It feels like the pools, beaches, and splash pads just opened, but now the City of Rochester has announced when they'll all be closing up for the season.

I always feel like they close SO early, don't you? Although, with the pools, I understand that they'd probably run into staffing issues if they stay open much longer with many employees going back to college. And speaking of which, one of the pools is already closing after this weekend.

When Rochester, MN Pools Are Closing for 2026

Let's start with the pool closing dates. The new Silver Lake Pool is closing for the season on Sunday, August 16th. As for the Soldiers Field Aquatic Center, that will close on Sunday, August 23rd.

When Rochester, MN Beaches Are Closing for 2026

Moving on to the beaches, both the Cascade Lake Beach and the Foster Arend Beach will close after Labor Day. Yes, you'll still be able to hit up the beach on Labor Day if the weather allows.

When Rochester, MN Splash Pads Are Closing for 2026

The splash pads around Rochester, so the Silver Lake Splash Pad, Lincolnshire Splash Pad, and McQuillan Splash Pad, will also be open through Labor Day.

At least the beaches and splash pads will stay open through Labor Day weekend, that's not too bad. There's always that one weekend in September, though, that ends up being warm and would be perfect for hitting up the beach but, nope. Gotta love Minnesota weather!
